until I got one. I think what convinced me in the end were two things. One is when they use that red paste thing to show how much plaque and tartar is on your teeth, and it usually shows up alot more with the regular toothbrush. The other was that my dentist kept telling me that the front of my teeth was shiny and gleaming but I had problems with the inside etc.
So I got a cheapo battery operated toothbrush just to try it out, and after the first few days where my gums got a bit sensitive (but soon got over it), my teeth felt sooooo much cleaner.
Then the batteries got low slowly, the head needed changing, and it got crappy so gradually that I didn’t realise it was happening. I eventually replaced them but this kept happening over and over again.
So I bought a plug into the wall toothbrush, and it’s great.
The last time I saw my dentist he said my teeth were great. And now if I go away for the weekend and take my regular toothbrush they feel so dirty.
Ok so anyway, this seems like a bit of an ad and I hate advertising so feel free to ignore what I’ve said. I think it is entirely possible to get as good a clean without an electric toothbrush, it’s just that most of us don’t, either because we stop too early, or because we can’t reach the right bits because the heads of regular toothbrushes are too big and are just getting bigger and bigger till they resemble rocket ships.
