Peruvian cream — 1 year ago
Yesterday evening I made Peruvian cream (chocolate cream with a delicate coffee taste) for my friends.
The recipe is easy, if somewhat long to prepare.

I made cornish hens last week and they weren’t bad! Also made my first homemade chili over the weekend. It’s nice when I actually have someone else to cook for though.
I’m cooking Christmas dinner for my family this year. Hoping it turns out well!
Well…my first time cooking with a wok. The dinner as a whole was good…but I need to practice my fried rice a little more. Not too horrible I guess!
Worth doing!
I think of cooking as a hobby. I’m all for picking up prepared food if it’s good enough, but I’ve found some recipes that top anything I can buy, and so if I want to eat it, I have to make it… I would think that if I had to cook every night, like for a family, I would learn to hate doing it. So, I keep it light, and make a fancy dessert or main dish every so often. I have a recipe page at http://www.efn.org/~marcl/recipes.html if you would like to see some of my favorites.
I’m making dinner for a guy I’m dating this weekend…we’ll see just how good of a cook I really am!
I feel like I don’t cook very often bc it’s just me that I’m cooking for. I need to start entertaining people. I’ve finally got my house set up nicely – I should invite people to enjoy my space with me :)
I know you can cook cheap, but it seems alot of the “basics” are expensive, I dont even really have adequate cookware for alot of the stuff i wanna try.
Course, I am really lazy to and sometimes get easily distracted by the next “shiny” thing, so I am hesitant to drop to much money on a hobby I might drop in just a month or 2.
On the other hand, this hobbie goes well with 2 of my other goals, Get in shape, and Grow a vegetable garden. Synergy is good.
I bought 2 amazing cookbooks today :) Can’t wait to get started! One thing I’ve realized is that I’m lacking in the cooking ware department…guess I know what will be on my Christmas list :)
My brother’s girlfriend is a pastry chef…my brother is an amazing cook (self-taught in Italy). I’m…well, I’m ok I guess.
