Anyone who says they have “tipped” a cow is a bald faced, unadulterated, flatout LIAR. It is impossible.
1. Cows do not sleep standing up
2. You can not sneak up on them (otherwise they would be extinct from predators)
3. 1-3 people cannot tip over a 1,000 lb cow
4. There is not one documented video or picture anywhere of this being done. something this “cool” would have been filmed by now if it was possible.

I’ve done it a few times, better with 2 people or more. They don’t have to be asleep, if you are good, you can sneak up on them and hit them hard to tip them.

Wow. 22 months ago

Cowtipping is hilarious, exhilirating and, if they’re not your cows, incredibly intense. wear running shoes. avoid cow poop.

Think for second, a cow is a half ton animal 2 years ago

No a cow asleep in the middle of the night will not attack you, at least not for several minutes. You are however trying to push over a 1000-2000lbs animal and that is not exactly an easy task. Don’t so it, it certainly is not worth it.

Instructions for cow tipping: 2 years ago

15% is standard, but a generous 20% is becoming more common. Really, though, the cows don’t seem to appreciate it, perhaps because they lack the opposable thumbs necessary to pocket the change. Therefore, I usually stick to 10% or even nothing at all unless the circumstances are extraordinary.

pretty much impossible, like the cattle farmer said. cows barely sleep.

friends and i jumped a few fences into a cow pasture yesterday around sunset. Cow pie fights, trying to pet the cows, etc. it was fun & will have to suffice for my cow tipping experience.

sorry to burst your bubble 2 years ago

I am a cattle farmer, and I hate bursting your bubble, but cow tipping is a myth perpetrated by city people with very little knowledge of cattle, and egged on by some rural people who think it is hilarious that city people would actually believe it. First, cows sleep lying down, NOT standing up. Second, cows weigh anywhere from 800 to 1600 POUNDS, with a fairly low center of gravity, so even if you were to sneak up on one (very unlikely…cattle are a prey species and thus are very alert to the presence of intruders) not only would you NEVER be able to get enough leverage to knock it over, it would trample you and your drunken buddies before you knew what was happening. If you should happen to make the mistake of trying to tip a bull,(most people cant tell the difference…here is a hint: large scrota) be warned that there may not be much left for the funeral home to work with after the bull gets through stomping and tossing your lifeless corpse all over the pasture.

This would be so fun. I love cows and have always wanted my own little pasture pf them, but before I get that, why not go tipping someone else’s cows on a drunken night?
