Learn to sew well

My Mum is fantastic at sewing – I get rotten that I didn’t inherit this talent from her!

I am useless with a machine and by hand, I’m useless with patterns and how to put them together. But I have free time and a sewing machine – so may aswell get started! :)

In the future.

I have a machine, but I had major problems with it at first, just because I’m machine stupid. My friend used it just fine, so it has been proven it is merely me being a dumbface. So we’ll see how this goes – I intend to be making a tote in the near future, and we’ll see if that goes down.

A friend and I are trading lessons. I’m teaching her piano (since that’s what I do for a living anyway) and she’s going to help me learn to sew. I think having a weekly appointment will help me make steady progress toward this goal.

Once again, I have so many ideas for amazingly cute clothes. I figure I will either take a class in this, or have one of my grandparents show me. I do well with a needle and thread, but have no clue how to use patterns and a machine.
