ams916 is sweating in the New Zealand heat
I want a job but not a horrible one hat stresses me out totally. Been there done that. I’m not that desperate for a job.
People have told me that you should get a job at McDonalds or something. (I would rather stick my head in a toilet and lick the bowl than work there!) The pays rubbish and it’s not a good “job experience” applicant to put on your CV.
I think i’ll see if I can get a job at the supermarket.
Anyone got an idea of how to make some money as a teenager?

i need a job because i need money and i dont wanna keep getting money out of my savings account, i wanna have a little bit of money to spend but mostly i want to build up my savings because i have rather ambitious plans for my future which unforunately cannot be accomplished without a lot of money
anyway i’ve never had a job before but i applied for one at kfc lol
but its gunna be really hard for me dealing with people all the time, im just not good with people but thats life i guess i cant really get a job without having to interact with people… i wish i could though, it’d be way easier for me and way less stressful.

It can be tough sometimes to balance school and a job, but it can also be pretty rewarding.
Apart from the extra cash (which is a pretty awesome thing in and of itself ^^), you find yourself becomming more reliable and just feeling more…grown up.
I found that having to deal with people at work really helped me to become more self-confident and better at dealing with new people and new situations. Plus, my small talk is better now!
I would suggest working in a small place if you can, such as a small corner shop or your local GPs surgery (which is what I’m doing). It’s less daunting than working for a big, faceless company, people are more willing to look after you and the atmosphere is just generally more friendly. The last thing you want is to finish school and have to face a mind-numbing job with no-one to talk to.
Mind you, don’t expect too much. Most after-school jobs are going to involve some pretty dull tasks – the goal is to enjoy the place you’re in and the people you’re with even if the actual work is a little on the tedious side. After all, this is your after school job, not the rest of your career. :)
