I’m doing sort of better at this, I think. I’ve been feeling much more independent lately. I went to a concert by myself the other night and it was a glorious experience. I am also beginning to feel more comfortable in my skin I think, which is something I lost when I moved to college. I think my living situation has made me expand my horizons some and also just more independent, which I think I really needed.

    Worth doing!

I’ve always done this. I’ve played basketball since I was 9 and had very un-sporty friends. I like world/folk music – though now most of my friends do too. I probably like drinking more than some of my friends tehe. I do lots of things without my friends – salsa classes, walking, writing, reading, computer games, tv, whatever. Often you find that you end up with friends who like what you were already doing though.

My interests that I think I am finding.  — 2 years ago

I have chosen two interests. One is nature and the outdoors. I want to hike and camp and experience nature and I want to make nature as wonderful a place as possible. The other interest I am developing is my feminist side. I want to be active in women’s rights and make that something that I stand for. I am excited for this.

Right now I feel like all of my eggs are in one basket, kind of. I have my one group of friends and I am so dependant on them for all of my friendly needs. I am also insecure enough at this point that I almost need them to leave the building, I just feel more comfortable. I don’t like this. My best friend here is going to take different classes next term and might now even go here next year. I need to set up a new lifestyle that allows me to be less dependant on my friends for that support. I am getting better, but there is still much progress to be made.
