I can understand Tamil to an extent, but I never speak it back. I am currently learning to read, write, and speak it by self-study. It’s a slow process, and it doesn’t help that I have a packed college schedule and I’m doing this outside of class.
Still, I’ll get there someday.
HI All,
Nice to see so many people learning Tamil. Can anyone suggest any good website to learn spoken Tamil. I dont want to learn how to read Tamil, as of now. Just the spoken Tamil. I am getting married to a Tamilian – so knowning how to talk in tamil will really smoothen things durin the wedding, I guess.
Waiting for some links..

I’m half indian but never able to speak tamil coz my dad never really taught us,the kids..He’s able to read, write n speak well but kinda a waste dat he never really care to teach his kids or at least speak a bit in Tamil when we were little.
So I’m takin my own initiative to learn..from the very basic. It sounds really impossible at first but i think i’m doin quite ok learning on my own (for now).
Interested to enroll in a class asap. But for now i’m takin an online course frm TVU :
