Dear Friends,
With so much time on my hands, I feel that I have become a freaking philosopher with out any credentials. I’ve been reading everything that I can get my hands on. From scientific books to my medication bottles. I am no longer glue to the TV. And with most of the stuff that I’ve read, I am starting to understand the world a little bit better. But the one thing that I am still very confused with and have conflicts with is Creations. I know, you’re probably thinking, is he crazy or what? Why is he even bothering himself with such stupid thoughts and ideas? Honestly, it’s my hunger and need to know that is growing each day. And Creation is an area that I still do not fully comprehend. And the biggest question I have with Creation is “Why”. Have you always wonder why? Why are we here? What purposed do we serve? And honestly, reading all of these faith books still don’t answer my questions. But back to my thoughts on why.
I feel that I must share these thoughts with you since you’re all crazy enough to read them in the first place. The bible’s answer to that question is we are all here to serve God’s purposed. But what the bible does not answer is what is that purposed? So again, I am back to square one. Science also have no answer, they don’t even have a definitive answer on how we came about. The closest thing science has to Creation is Darwin’s theory. But Darwin’s theory has way too many holes in them; so again, I am back to square one. Can the answer be easy as life and death? Are we here to serve no purposed at all? And you might wonder, how does Creation and Purposed connect? Well, they totally connect in both a scientific and biblical ways. And this is where I am lost…trying so hard to come to a conclusion. Because if you look at everything scientifically, they all serve some kind of purposed. The rain waters the grass, and the grass feels the belly of a cow, which we then turn into a nice juicy New York Steak. But it’s more complicated then that.
It’s like this, what is encoded on the DNA inside every cell of every living creature is purely and simply written information. We use a 26 letter alphabet in English; in DNA, there is 40 letter chemical alphabet, whose letters combine in various sequences to form words, sentences, and paragraphs. These comprise all the instructions needed to guide the functioning of the cell. They spell out in coded form the instructions for how a cell makes proteins. It works just the same way alphabetical letter sequences do in our language. Are you following me yet? Just to help you understand a little better. Each cell in the human body contains more information than in all 30 volumes of the Encyclopedia. Now that is awesome. If you use Darwin’s theory, it would be like a scenario where a tornado whirling through a junkyard and accidentally assembling a fully functional Boeing 747. Well, it’s not that simple, Creation is more complicated than that. Because everything is written into codes. Codes that must somehow connect with each other to form a function. Because of its complexity, I believe that there is intelligent design in Creations.
Now that we have a little better understanding of Creation, the next logical question is “Why”. The scientific community wants us to believe that we are born, live, and then die to be eaten by maggots. With our vast knowledge of how we are form, are we to believe that our purposed in life is to end up being eaten by maggots? But this is where I get lost in my own thoughts. Because I do truly believe that every single one of us in this world are here to serve some sort of purpose. The Christian community wants us to believe that we are here to serve God. I can not for a second believe that this intelligent being would give us the freedom to chose but at the same time wants us to worship him like a deity. If that was his purposed, then why give us the freedom to choose in the first place. But, I do believe that in each and every one of us, there is a singular purpose in life. For example, let’s take Stephen Hawking. If Stephen Hawking wasn’t born with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, which confined him to a wheelchair, would he have become the foremost expert in the big bang theory? I would bet that if Stephen Hawking was able to walk, he might have end up doing something else. But because of his confinement, he was forced into using his mind. A lot of you out there might say that this is a cruel trick that God is playing then to put Stephen Hawking where he is, but it’s not a trick, it’s his purposed in life.
To this conclusion, I believe that we are all predestined to serve a singular purpose before we leave this world. And this might sound scary, but even Hitler served his purposed. With out Hitler, the United State might have never become the super power that it is today. With out Hitler, we would never see that a large group of good people can at the same time do evil onto others. And this leads me to my final question, what is my singular purpose in life? I have always wondered or asked this question, but never have an answer. I feel like a man traveling a lonely stretch of highway trying to find an exit, but have yet found one. And is it everything that I do from now on leads me to my purpose in life? This is where I will end for now…because I have yet to find the answer to my own destiny in life.
Now until Forever ~
Tuan
