Pakistan was playing New Zealand in the semi finals of ICC champions trophy yesterday, Pakistan made 234, the batting order collapsed just like it always does, which is becoming very redundant and I’m not being a cynic when i say very predictable of the Pakistani team, They only rely on their balling now, which is a shame. So they were up defending a very small total, and New Zealand always looked in control when they chased after that total, but it turned out to be a pretty nail biting even, as Pakistan successfully got wickets at regular intervals and they were able to keep the required run rate well above 6 per over. But to their misfortune, Elliot was still at the pitch and he steered New zealand to a comprehensive victory along with his captain daniel vitori. Younis Khan who captains the pakistani side, dropped Elliots catch at a crucial point of the match and hence dropped the ICC champions trophy there and then.
To rub salt on other wounds, no lbw decision was given in favor of Pakistan and it looked like the umpires had taken an oath to put much weaker side on the finals with Australia. Umpire Simon tofel also gave a wrong Lbw decision against Omar Akmal of Pakistan which caused the massive wicket fall.
Man of the match, Simon tofell.

What a great escape for the English team yesterday, it was a thrilling last hour of the match; Monty Panesaar and James Anderson played to survive the most important 12 overs of their lives. Australians gave all that they had, spinners spun yards, fast bowlers swung and produced yorkers but of no avail. the cardiff stadium clock ticked and with England 10 runs behind. Not only they cleared the defecit, Panesar and Anderson scored some boundaries. The clock ticked away and it had meant Australia had no time to take the final wicket and come out to chase a very small total of 10 odd runs.
It was surely a thriller, i saw it on television after returning from work. Damn, i wish i was there

I saw Australia play against Pakistan on the first cricket game ever to be played in Dubai, the newly built stadium is breathtaking, but the level of cricket was really amature, it was like watching B-class teams playing against each other. Australia scored 168, Hopes was there leading scored who scored 48. Shahid Afridi took 6 wickets and thrashed the Australian strong batting lineup.
I want to watch the second game thats to be played tomorrow. lets see if i get to catch it or not. I’m standing on nails and knives biting my nails waiting for tomorrows game. i just hope the quality of cricket is better than the first match

I have been able to catch some of the ongoing ashes series.. it’s a shame England were not more competitive for it. they have already lost the series, just hoping not to get swept.. they can’t bat worth a damn.

A draw!!! Good enough that Hodge got his double century, but I would argue that it costed us the victory, whatever Ricky might say about it. But then, as my housemate says, it’s just going to make the match at the MCG more interesting. Oh well.

Since I am going back to Oz in less than 3 weeks (YÉÉÉ!), I’ll watch plenty of cricket. Actually, I’ll check the schedule of the Adelaide Oval and I might be able to catch a one-day match there…
Watching cricket live would be wicked for my Québécois self! :p

I am from Montréal, so I am probably one of about 150 people that know how cricket is played in the whole city. So watching it is kind of a hard goal to achieve.
I have desperately tried to find a pub in Montréal that would broadcast the Ashes (I left Australia after the fourth test), but I finally just had to content myself with watching the sad sad score (how could Oz lose!!!) on the net.

I am an american, so there is very little Cricket to be seen.. live matches are pay per view that I can not afford. My favorite team is the USA.. if I had to pick a team that is a knwon as a cricket nation, I would pick the West Indies or New Zealand
