For months now, I’ve wanted to start making smoothies again. I’m frequently not very hungry during the summer (especially around breakfast), and having something cold, healthy & delicious helps a lot. I finally managed to go shopping for ingredients and have been going to town with the blender for the last few days. Isak helps by counting the ice cubes and strawberries and we end up with more than enough for us both.

Our favorite so far has been this fruity one:

Ice
16 frozen strawberries
1 medium sized banana
Half Silk vanilla soy milk
Half orange, pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit, and passion fruit juice
2 scoops Eating Right vanilla soy frozen dessert

I’ve been experimenting – blending up cold coffee (with the vanilla soy), or mixing a little low sugar/low fat chocolate syrup and peanut butter in instead of fruit. I think I’ll try adding a handful of plain cheerios in with our next fruity blend. Bye-bye bagels, the blender’s staying out.



Rachael is getting back on track with cheering since being away for a week

it’s actually more fun than it should be, cutting everything up and then blending it all to liquid :) hehe.
