I got tattooed and the experience was great. Be sure that not only your artist is good, but knows what he or she is doing. Getting tattooed is a way of life. There are no health risks provided the artist is following health procedures.

It is not standard in all countries and I think it should.

Never reuse needles, it should be sterile and packaged
Never get tattooed with barbed needles.
Never get tattooed if the artist does not clean their stations properly.
Never get tattooed if the artist uses their contaminated hands on anything that has not been bagged.
Make sure used ink caps are disposed.
If steel tubes are used make sure the shop have been inspected and passed the spore tests.
I prefer they used disposible plastic tubes. Which are a one time sterlized use. (Much safer I think)
Using disposible plastic tubes are a choice for the artist and it should be pushed to be used more in the industry, as it saves time from going through the process of cleaning and sterlizing the steel tubes.
And one last thing, if they use contaminated gloves and open the bottle of ink with those dirty hands and shake it to add more. Well don’t get it done by them.

It’s your life to enjoy, and tattooing is not bad at all! Just watch first how the artist works first. Just cause he\she is good does not mean he\she is CLEAN!!

Get tattooed the clean and safe way! Don’t try to save a buck, because the artist in the basement or shop down the road is cheap and dirty. There is no price out there thats worth the health of yourselves.

Totally worth it. I love mine and I’m planning on getting more.

I mean who DOESN’T want one? They’re a pretty amazing form of art and no matter what; you’ll get sick of it or regret getting it. Even if you don’t, it’s cooler to have one when you’re young. That way, you won’t have a midlife crisis at age 50 and try to get a quality tattoo on your sagging, aged skin. So I’ll definitely do this by the time I’m legal- which is pretty dang soon. I also have this small birthmark. You don’t notice it until you look closely, but I know it’s there- and what better way to hide it than with a chest piece? Plus, I’d get tattoos anyway, even if I didn’t have that mark. Now my only problem is figuring out what to get! Damn it…

i want another tattoo, but cant seem to find anything i like, i want something quit femanin, no flowers tho, to go across my shoulder and down my arm a bit, sort of similar to this one above, for the shape of it but no flowers, any ideas????

I love alice in wonderland, i maen i feel like it represents my brain completely and i think that I will be happy as long as my life follows along the paths of alice, of adventure imagination and mind expanding, the cheshire cat has the most inviting and delirious smile and my first tattoo will hopefully be alice in wonderland and its main characters in a scene on the lower of my back. in colour – of course

What about a butterfly with wings made of leaves? I’m sketching it out right now.

I know eventually I want full sleeves and I keep going back to the idea of a wicked back piece, although my back is my favorite part of myself. However, I’d like to get something small first, partly to sample the experience and partly to satiate my hunger for ink while I figure out what I want my bigger pieces to be.

I’ve thought about getting the Piscean symbol on the top of my left foot, or on the inside heel. I’ve also thought about a stylized question mark, a butterfly (cliche I know, but it does have personal meaning to me), or word or phrase from On the Road, Howl, Microserfs, or Peter Pan, which have all impacted my life in some way.

The past couple of days I’ve been thinking about leaf tattoos. I just don’t know.
