    I had a week. I wanted a region 7 call, so I bought a book, grabbed a highlighter, and read like mad. Then I found a cd for the computer that would ask me the real questions on the test, and worked with that for a very long time…It was crazy but so worth the time!

    It’s fun. Tell all your family that you’re getting into amateur radio, and some old long-lost cousin Bill will be 82 years old and no longer into it. He will give you $4K worth of gear to get it out of his garage.
