7 down 23 to go (sort of...) 2 weeks ago

My friends and I try to add a new stadium every year. We make a road trip to a park I’ve never been to before.

So far I’ve been to Shea Stadium, Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, Citizen’s Bank Ballpark, Dodger Stadium, Petco Park, and Camden Yards.

Next season I hope to add new Yankee Stadium, Citi Field, Kaufman Stadium, and am planning a road trip with my friends but haven’t picked a city yet.

Only have gone to four stadiums but you have to start somewhere 2 months ago

10 of us have touched all the bases 3 months ago

We started in 1998 as a one-shot thing. I never thought it would grow into an annual event. So far 10 guys, the youngest 16 and the oldest over 60 have seen every major league team play at home. (We don’t say visited every major league stadium because of the new ones that have been built – a reason to keep going.)
We visit 3-5 per year – usually fathers/sons/men. When we visit 4 stadiums, we do it in 4 days. The wildest trip was seeing the Rockies, the Angels (night), A’s (day) and then Seattle – 4 days. We once were at the Cubs for a day game and Brewers for a night game.
A 10 year old almost catch a Mark McGwire home run – it would have broken his hand.

Goal: Visit every MLB park 17 months ago

I recently decided I want to fullfill a goal of experiencing a ball game at each MLB park. So far I have been to:

1. Wrigley Field (Go Cubs!)
2. Comiskey Park (long time ago)
3. Dolphin Stadium
4. Turner Field
4. Yankee Stadium
5. Busch Stadium
6. AT & T Park
7. Rogers Centre (but only to see a concert on the field)

I hope to hit several more this month on a road trip through the NE. It shall be an adventure…

14 down...16 to go! 19 months ago

I stumbled upon 43things.com when searching for others that shared my same goal. It is so great to see other fans of baseball that want to see all 30 Major League Ballparks. I am trying to see at least one park every summer so I hope to accomplish my goal in the next 16 years (not including all the new parks that will be built)!!
Just a couple of weeks ago I started my own website to track my stadium visits, post pictures and videos of my travels and start a community to help others plan their next baseball trip! Feel free to join me at www.ballparkchasers.com to create your online scrapbook!

I have loved baseball all my life, but it wasn’t until my oldest son worked a temp. job in Virginia in 2000 that we started visiting ballparks. We haven’t had a real ball park in Minnesota for over 25 years so we are looking forward to the Twins new park in 2010.

Parks I have visited so far:

1955 County Stadium (Braves vs Pirates)

1987 Metrodome (Twins vs Cardinals in World Series) a zillion more games in this horrible stadium but this game is the most memorable

2000 Oriole Park at Camden Yards (Orioles vs A’s double header)

2005 Fenway Park (Red Sox vs Yankees)

2006 Coors Field (Rockies vs Giants)

2006 AT&T Park (Giants vs Dodgers)

2007 Miller Park (Brewers vs Rockies)

2007 Petco Park (Padres were on the road so my son and I took the Park tour)

Ballparks to date: 2 years ago

So far, I’ve been to the following stadiums:
Safeco Field – Seattle
Candlestick Park – San Francisco
McAfee Stadium – Oakland
Fenway Park – Boston
Yankee Stadium – New York
Camden Yards – Baltimore
Veterans Stadium – Philadelphia
Wrigley Field – Chicago
U.S. Cellular Fied – Chicago
Miller Park – Milwaukee
Metrodome – Minneapolis
Jack Murphy Stadium – San Diego
Dodger Stadium – Los Angeles
Anaheim Stadium – Anaheim
Skydome – Toronto
Olympic Stadium – Montreal

I need to revisit a few of these cities that have new stadiums. I think for next year, I’ll try to make 3 cities: Kansas City, Phoenix (Arizona) and Atlanta. Ambitious but worth it!
