hanikac is crazy.
Day 1: A bit anxious all day, reminding myself not to eat.
Day 2: Felt weak, like a fever without the temp or congestion.
Day 3: A little more energy, but stomach hurt a little more.
Day 4: Weak but ok.
Day 5: Less energy.
Day 6: Even less energy, more hungry.
Day 7: More energy, good mood.
I broke the fast yesterday, day 8. I ate tiny amounts of everything, and everything tasted a little strong. I was careful not to overeat (it wasn’t hard since everything seemed too heavy) because my stomach wasn’t really talking to me at that point, except for in little spurts when I felt a little sick. Today I have more energy than during the fast, but not as much energy as I did before. It’ll probably be tomorrow or the next day when my metabolism remembers what to do.
I wasn’t sad/depressed during the fast; I felt good emotionally. The most that I went through in that department was boredom, mostly.
I did this fast for religious reasons and am glad I had the chance (school’s about to start!). Many people do it for health because it cleans out a lot of toxins. I’m also glad I had the self discipline to decide to do it and carry it out to the end. All in all it was a good thing to have done, and it went by faster than I thought it would.
