Make presents.

a beautiful photo album for my best friend SJ. She loved it, and i had written a little story in the card, which she really enjoyed.

I love to give presents.

I had wanted to give my Auntie one of my photos enlarged to put on her wall, but it’s her birthday today, and i haven’t done it. I might still do it, and give it to her next week. It won’t really matter.

I also have a really nice photo of 2 other friends together, one of who’s birthday is coming up, and the other is moving away. I’m going to get an enlargement done for each of them, and i think i will make a little photo album for SE, and maybe for B, too. 4 years ago

They don’t stock a very good range of fabrics, and they are expensive. At least the city store is. I had wanted to make a little hat for my friend R who is leaving to go to Holland today, but they didn’t have any suitable fabric, so i didn’t get to make it. I’m going to go to spotlight this week, so i’ll see if they have something nice there.

But i am still making pressies, who cares if they aren’t for Xmas? Actually, i might change this to “Make Presents” and can just keep it here as a permanent list!

Anyway, i made some pressies for the two S’s this weekend, they are so cute. I made these little tie-up visors, a cross between a visor and a little headscarf.

I had seen them ages ago, and thought i would just make them rather than buy them, but two weeks ago at the markets i needed a hat, saw them for sale, and bought one. Then when i was at mum’s last weekend and we took a pattern, made some adjustments to make them even better, and i sewed 3! They are great! They turned out so well, and they are even better than the original.

Ok, so technically, this is not a Buy Nothing Christmas but all the things i am buying are either fair trade, actually needed by the person, or materials to make a heart-felt gift. Or photos, but i really think there is nothing wrong with printing and sharing photos. They are memories!
