Stop getting library fines

Another $1.60!

Sigh.

I talked my way of out the $2 VPL fine…the fine wasn’t totally my fault (due to the confusing interlibrary loan system here…) so the guy was super understand and waived the fine! YAY! Therefore, I will mark this as done, since I am caught up on fines and are being more diligent on getting my books back on time!

I have gotten a fine…but it wasn’t even really my fault. We have this interlibrary system here, which means I can drop off my books from Vancouver library in the lower mainland. So I did. and guess what? They were late, because the library only does a pick up on Mondays. :( So i owe VPL $2. I think I’m going to dispute it! haha. :P

is not going as well! I have accrued about $2.60 since I got this goal. BOOO. :S anyways, I will have to try and get organized in December!

I have at least 7 books out at the moment, half of which I finished weeks ago. I don’t know if any of them are overdue at the moment, but statistically speaking there’s a good chance I owe some money on at least one or two of them. I like supporting the library and all, but this is a silly waste of my money. I work 5 minutes from one library system I borrow from and live 5 minutes from the other one, so there really isn’t any excuse for this.

I read on someone’s blog that they had a system where every Monday (or something) they checked their library account and renewed books that needed renewing. Then if there were any that couldn’t be renewed, they’d return books on the Tuesday. That seems like a logical approach; I have gotten to the point where I am reluctant to log in because I hate seeing that I’ve got things overdue. :-)

Anyway, small goal—not easily accomplished. Wish me luck.

Every time I take out a freakin’ book, which has become pretty often, I get a .30 cent fine, and sometimes as much as $2.00 or $3.00 or so. This is ridiculous, as it could be going to towards my starbucks fund, or even my education fund :P hehe. Anyways, this is a mini goal that I’m sure just needs my attention in order to achieve it!
