hike the east coast trail

I have purchased only a few things like my GPSr, E.C.T TOPO maps, a pack, and tent. Still have a lot to get, but I am planning on leaving starting at South Head, at the St. John’s harbour, in less than a few days, probably the weekend.

I did hear that it was supposed to rain all weekend though, so that may delay me a little longer into next week, which is all fine, but I am getting to impatient. I’ll be doing all 18 paths which will take me a very long time to do. So if anyone is around looking to accompany me on the hike, or part of it, drop a email. mikewattersAThotmailDOTcom.

My Uncle has a book on this very journey and I spent some beautiful summer days learning all about where to go and what to expect. I would not recommend doing this without some education first. Find out about the current state of trails, which legs of the journey you want to challenge and which are best left to the more experienced. Plan you trip and your time.

This june i hiked from Fort Amherst to Bay Bulls with my mom, it took us three days. We unfortunately had to quit because my mom hurt her knee… the three days were awesome though, i will definetly go back and finish it sometime
