grow my own veg

Today we planted out:

• Flatleaved parsley
• Spring Onions
• Spinach
• Chinese leaves
• Radish
• Mixed Salad Leaves
• Carrots

I do hope this works….. :-D

I have put a raised bed out in the back garden today. My daughter and I have also planted out 3 bags of potatoes. Fingers crossed now!

so ive managed two sweet corns a potfull of potatoes
a mental amountb of strawberries and shed loads of appples

here is a photo of my sweetcorn a couple of weeks ago and mmy tomatoes before the slugs had ther wicked way with him!!!!!!!!!

Is to just go and weed the allottment over the autumn+winter and prepare it to start growing at the beginning of next spring. We’re gonna put our all into it next time round as we should have a lot more time on our hands hopefully!

Carrots were a no-show
Peas were eaten by slugs/snails
No sign of lettuce either
Salad leaves have probably been eaten too by now as we haven’t had a chance to go to the allottment :( sigh damn working ourselves into the ground!!!

The salad leaves have sprung up yays :)

I have an area in the garden earmarked for a raised bed – I want to get it built this summer, so that I can plant in it next year. Unfortunately I’m rubbish at making things, so am stuck at the moment until I can coerce someone into helping me! Also need to find some topsoil from somewhere to fill it in with – its so expensive to buy – I think I’ll try Freecycle!

Last week, Andy and I planted peas, lettuce, salad leaves and carrots. Miriam also planted a blueberry bush.
Fingers crossed now that we’ll see some shoots in the next week or so!

Andy, Miriam and I have cut back the hedge by a few feet and begun the weeding. Andy and I also bought some seeds :D Can’t wait for us to get the time to work on the allotment more and get planting!!!

success….............the potatoes are sprouting the apple tree is flowering and the straw berries are flourishing (if you put down bowles of beer-cheap- and leave a couple out around your garden the slugs go in for the sugar but get pissed and cant get out then just throw them out into your next door neighbours wall) the garden is soooooo lush there are flowers and stuff everywhere and my swing at the end is ort of hidden buy a tree and by the shed so this evening i was out there reading and haveing a drink it was like being in the country side or even better like being in my favourite murder mystery(murder at the vicaredge) it was mental beause it got wreaked by a train thundering past
