I made basic white bread today. It turned out really tasty, much better than the garlic bread did. I predict the loaf will probably be all gone by tonight.

The bread experiment had mixed results. Personally? I didn’t like it. It didn’t have the texture that garlic bread should to me and had a taste to it that I couldn’t pinpoint. I also put it on the medium setting and I should have probably used light; the crust was a bit too done and dark. My boyfriend and nephew really liked it though and my mom thought it was all right.
For garlic bread I think I’ll stick to my Jiffy Mix and garlic powder concoctions but I do think some nice sweet bread, sourdough, or even white bread will be a success. Overall, I’m glad I finally got around to using the machine and it will be a fun thing to do on lazy Sundays when I’m in the mood for something fresh and special.

Last night I chose a recipe, Garlic Parmesan bread, and bought some yeast. This morning I cleaned the machine inside and out, collected the ingredients, and the machine is currently kneading the dough as I type this. I added a bit more garlic than the recipe called for since we like garlicy bread. I’m hoping I didn’t use too big of a recipe; I may should have used the medium instead of large.
I also realize just how much I need the apron I’ve been wanting after getting flour everywhere.

I have pulled it out from the depths of the bottom cabinets and placed it where I will actually see it. Now, to just use it.
I guess I need to buy yeast first of all.
And then figure out how to work it since it doesn’t have a manual.
