Kids don't always want to listen 4 weeks ago

especially if an adult is trying to tell them what to do, waht is right and wrong etc. Everyone has their own opinions and kids can get theres pretty quickly and if an adult keeps trying to tell them what to do then they lose faith in that person.
I’ll still have opinions and information and experience to give to my kids though and I definitely want to pass on my advice so I’ll have to try to make them understand that I’m there to halp them, I have opinions and even if they don’t agree with an opinion it is still useful to hear it because for some reason someone has come to that opinion and if you can understand how that person got there then you can understand part of how people work and that is always useful so there is always something to learn from any opinion or advice.

They can have a job they want to have 8 months ago

whether it be to do with cars, football, movies, food, wine, etc there are jobs that are related to that so my kids can enjoy and be passionate about their work although some people don’t like to do their hobbies as work as they then lose interest I think for most people it’s a great idea so I’ll encourage my kids to get the skills needed to have one of these jobs, lots of them involve journalism writing about your passion and then getting to see it on a regular basis so I plan to get them to write about anything they enjoy. Take a computer game, if my kid wants to play it then they need to write a review, same for a movie, it’s a bit like homework or doing chores only its hopefully more fun.

Strength from Adversity 8 months ago

In life there are always people who disagree with you, want something that conflicts with your own wants or just plain don’t like you not necessarily for a reason and how you deal with these things makes a huge difference. I think a child needs to and almost certainly will experience some of this in their childhood and they need to find positive ways of dealing with these problems and not run away from them, conflict resolution will make them stronger, more confident and better at adapting to the world when they are older after all children are similar to adults in many ways.
I believe that strength comes because of adversity not in spite of it, rather like a tree whcih blows in the wind is stronger than one which is grown indoors and has no experience of bad conditions.

Look the part 3 years ago

In life a lot of the time looking the prt is as important as having the abilities, people are driven by first impressions and if a person looks like a manager they will be a better manager because people will instantly give them respect or look to them for advice. To become a manager therefore it is importnt to know what managers look like and make yourself look like them so that whatever my children want to do they will not be stopped by people because they do not measure up in the ways people expect them to.

How to win friends and influence people 3 years ago

I just finished reading this and I want to read this principle by principle to my kids when they are about 10 maybe 11 years old along the lines of the film thank you for smoking they need to realise that the World is not perfect, but that it changes around them and the more skills and better people they are and more positive they are the better the World around them is so that they can enjoy life as much as possible. I plan todo a mind map of each principle after we finish so that they can remember it better although that would mean that its not bedtime reading.

Thank you for smoking 3 years ago

I saw this film recently and even though its not a high moral film, I like the way it shows more of a balanced view on how life really works and how politicians and people like them do bend the truth and will win arguments using what some would call sneaky underhand tactics, so I want to show this film to my kid and it doesn’t really encourage smoking for anyone who hasn;t seen it.

    General outlines 3 years ago

Are all I’ve done so far, but I’ve stopped writing in depth like I used to. I’m going to try to get some stories together as well, fables and such which have meaning like in the Tim Allen Show Home improvement where the neighbout Wilson always had some story which had an important lesson behind it.

    Untitled 3 years ago

I can still remember being a child and all the things that worried me and also now working and being able to look back on the things my parents taught me but also the things maybe they should have taught me I think it would be a good time to write down the things I think are important to learn and also any ideas I have on how best to teach them. alos lots of parents have best intentions but they lose track of things like having a hcat with their kids so I might want to make sure some things are done on a regular basis.
