Last semester I held two jobs, not counting my internship, on top of being full time student, while working on my relationship with my fiance, while planning a wedding…the cherry on top was seeing I got straight A’s. Hot damn that’s a lot of crap to do! Mind you I did have a couple mini meltdowns a long the way…but who wouldn’t?
This semester I’m going a little easier on myself and not commuting the extra hour to and from my college classes, I made all four of them at my local community college. Besides that, everything about my schedule is the same. Wish me luck!

and for your entries, Ju!. I allways considered myself a renessaince person. i am an expert in several areas (none of them is my job) and have wide interests but… it is hard to write it down… i abandoned them almost completely.
[maybe that is the key, why i feel abandoned!]
my challenge is to actualy live those areas.
my decluttering project eaten away all my free time, but as soon as i gain control over my kitchen, living room and bedroom i intend to involve actively in at lest 4 of my interests.

Well starting next week I will be balancing quite a bit. Two jobs, summer college classes, a relationship, my writing, my hobbies, my friendships, and blah blah blah. Sorta like a renaissance man I suppose. But not really. I think it deals more with the intellectual pursuits. I can still do that. I think I’m off to a good start.

Well when I was younger I was obsessed with learning about the Myan Calender, End Times, and 2012. Maybe I can get back into that. Not that I necissarily believe in it all. I just find it very interesting. I would spend literally hours researching it, just because I liked to. If I can’t get back into that I’d like to hope I could find something else to get completely absorbed with. It helps to be obsessed w/ something if you want to be an expert in the field. This is going to sound funny but I’ve always wanted to be one of those people that the media interviews for expert opinions. Not that that’s my life goal, just that I think that would be pretty cool.

Renaissance man: a person who has wide interests and is expert in several areas
I do have wide interests but I wouldn’t say I’m an expert at anything. Well I love to write, once I go back to college I’m going to try to major in english composition or something similar. That could be one thing I could be an expert at. Umm…well, I do have ‘become an expert thrift store shopper’ but I wouldn’t consider that part of this goal…maybe.
So basically I need to become an expert at several things. Sounds so simple doesn’t it. Nuh-uh. Anything difficult is worth trying. Right?
I’ve always admired Ben Franklin for all of his accomplishments. When I think renaissance man I think of him. One of my favorite quotes that I live by is from him, “Never leave that till tomarrow which you can do today.”
