oh man.I did an awesome job today at school.I had to do a press and curl.Which is on ethnic hair.I had never done one before except for the other day on my mannican head(I don’t know how to spell that.)Anyway…I wasn’t to nervous but I think the lady was a bit hesitant at first. But then we started to do it and she gave me pointers because I’m not too familiar with that type of hair.It turned out great.I learned alot and she gave me a hug when she was leaving. It made my confidence even higher. And Mr.John even said I did an awesome job.WOOHOO!!!!Man I think I am turning into a hairstylist. And a pretty damn good one if I can say.
My instuctor told me that I do a good job and that he doesn’t want to see me end up in a walk-in salon or a family salon.Hes gonna put a good word in for me.That makes me feel really good. That I do a good job and he could see me working in a higher class salon.Well hopefully I can be done with school and quick my job because I hate it very much and I don’t want to be there anymore.Well I’ll see what happens.I hope he recommends me to someone that would be awesome.I would be so happy to be working at something that like to do.I don’t want to do something that I don’t want to do.I don’t want to look back on my life and see something that I don’t like.I would hate to say that I didn’t put all effort forward to do what I want and lve to do and not be the best at it that I possibly could be.
my first demo on a model for my class. :-)
i am considering leaving the place i’m assisting now and trying out supercuts or fantastic sam’s so i can get quicker training and start actually cutting/coloring/etc. on a daily basis. being an assistant is not fulfilling right now, perhaps if i was learning more during the week and not just one day a week. i spend all week sweeping floors, shampooing, and folding towels. i know if you’re an assistant you have to do your time but i’m getting so impatient. and not just b/c i love doing hair but b/c i’ve got to start making some money!
so anyway. time to get ready for my class and my forward graduation cut on my dentist’s receptionist. :-D
today at work it was slow, so instead of hanging around reading cosmo and people, i watched 3 toni & guy videos and took notes. i watched the one-length and forward graduation videos again and went through my notes, and started the square layers. didn’t have time to finish that one so i’ll pick up where i left off on that one next time it’s slow.
i need to have my model for the forward grad on monday, i really want to get that done. every week that i don’t have a model when i’m supposed to, is one week farther away from my goal of having my own chair. i’m adding “find a model for h/c” to my list.
now i’m doing some time as an asisstant. soon i’ll actually have a chair and start making some money. i can’t wait for that!!!
I am trying to do a good job while I’m in school for cosmetology. It is hard work. But I will hopefully graduate in July.
BeMe29 is so cool :)
I love to do hair and the best way to become a good hairstylist is to practice, practice, practice. I know it sounds Cliche but it’s true!!!!!!!
