My motivation has gone right up after going to the sahara and spending the night under the stars there – i saw so many it was ridiculous, absolutely zero light pollution and i could even see some nebulae and the milky way (i think!) i am more committed than ever to learn the constellations. I also saw 18 shooting stars before I lost count. What an experience!
So I’m back home now and light pollution is terrible but I have learnt which ones are the Big Dipper, Little Dipper, and Cassiopeia and saw them tonight.
I used to know most of ‘em back in high school astronomy class days, but it’s been awhile (and NYC living, for all its many benefits, doesn’t really help with this project.)
