I spend time on the web cause it’s easy, and I can get lost. Easy, cause I don’t have to face everything I need to do, can use it as a drug to hide my emotions. But it ties in with my “Don’t watch news’ goal too, as the news is emotional, gets me caught up in junk.
I read somewhere that watching TV is because we get bored, and instead of figuring out what to do, we turn on the drug of TV. I agree, and this is the same thing. I need to do more, surf less, news almost nothing.

2 days: W 8/29. Doubling to 4.
3 days: Th 8/30.
4 days: F 8/31. Doubling to 8.
5 days: S 9/1.
6 days: Su 9/2.
7 days: M 9/3.
8 days: Tu 9/4. Doubling to 16.
9 days: W 9/5.
10 days: Th 9/6.
11-13 days: 9/7-9/9. (Didn’t surf the web at all, but I’m still counting them :))
14 days: M 9/10.
15 days: Tu 9/11.
16 days: W 9/12.
17 days: Th 9/13.
18 days: F 9/14.
19 days: Sa 9/15.
20 days: Su 9/16.
Agh, I totally blew it. Back down the mountain.
1 day: W 9/19.
2 days: Th 9/20.
3 days: F 9/21.
4 days: Sa 9/22. Back to 8.
5 days: Su 9/23.

To add the 2 day thing. I’ll gradually lengthen the time period until I’m convinced that the habit has been adopted!

Now that I’m allowed to buy stuff again, I ordered a stopwatch-size countdown timer online. I had been using my kitchen timer, which is great when I’m at home, but something more portable is even better.
