It takes a long time, but I definitely notice my stretching exercises do pay off.
How I did it: I was only four but um.... I guess all you have to do is stratch a lot. Right now im working on getting my middle, wich is hhaarrrdd. So stretch every time you sit down and make sure you stretch other than that too, or you'll pull something with (trust me!) HURTS!!! But try no to be tense, once you get in the position as far as you can go just stop being tense and let it go, youll go farther than you thought!!!!

When I was younger I could do the splits. I am 28, now after not keeping up flexibility, and really are as stiff as a wooden board. For smooth Karate-kicks I really need more flexibility, so I am doing my stretches almost everyday now.
Anyone any idea how long it takes to do a full side split.
I start from point zero. Like 110 degrees or so.

...I may be able to do this as well. I think I need to start with some easy stretching first and the move on. My flexibility is laughable. At my karate training, I’m the only one who can’t touch the floor when I’m standing with my legs straight. That’s really bad…
Tried doing them in yoga last night – WOW – I have a long way to go until I reach this goal.

be able to do the splits soon and not break my legs. everyone else in my dance class can except me and i kinda feel like a dick!!
volleyball. I hate how we don’t stretch after practice! Now that I’m x years old, it’s difficult for me to stretch now. ); Tear, tear.
Anyway, the girl in the photo is amazing. I want to be as flexible as she is.
I do ballet so really im getting a lot of scolding from my teacher that i can’t do them. I’m going to try to stretch every day. Once i accomplish this, i’ll be able to do other moves a lot better and easier. this is gonna take a lot of work.
this has actually been a goal for me since I was like 8, BUT, I have decided that it is actually possible, and that my flexibility can do anything that I want it to do. Pilates and yoga help, too, and just plain old stretching. I am pretty close, too, I have like 5 inches left.
But I also want like crazy dancer-esque flexibility, like being able to kick crazy high, and do the splits easily, etc.
I’m excited for this because I think I can do it.

i can also lie on my belly and touch my nose with my toes. and i can stand on one leg, grab the other foot and put it behind my ear. i’m a ballerina!
