Take a jewelry-making class

i had to change this goal from “learn how to make jewelry” to “take a jewelry-making class” because really, how do you measure “learn how to make jewelry”? Ive already made a few pieces that I really like but I dont want to check this goal off because I think I have much more to learn.

I am now subscribed to some free newsletter full of jewelry tips and techniques. i know i have the eye for this stuff, i just lack technical knowledge. ive already watched a few videos and this shit looks hard (most of it any way) but i think if i buy the supplies, watch & experiment, i might come up with something. i might take lessons in the future but now am content to do it on my own.

I looked into the class schedule at the 92nd Street Y for Jewelry Making, but the summer class started in May so I’ll probably have to wait until Fall. They also have “Intro to beaded jewelry” which starts in July, but I’m not sure if that’s what I want to do. I looked at the supply list and (yikes!) there’s a lot of stuff. One step at a time!
