Feeling pretty elated about this. I have the colors I wanted. New paint looks fresh. Lessons learned. Know what you want before hand. Be prepared to give a little. Be careful of know it all relatives who want to do it their way. What you perceive as a shortcut will cost you in the long run. 5 years ago

Started painting today. Two coats today, trim tomorrow. It is amazing how many people will come up to you and ask “are you painting your house?” and proceed to tell you how to do the task. Unbelievable! Timetable for completion is four days. 5 years ago

Finally confirmed the colors I want for the house. More positives than negatives. I have learned not to get hung up on the names of colors. Read lobster bisque is just another name for pink. Lessons learned I guess. Now to buy the primer, and scrape off the old paint. 5 years ago

Now that I have decluttered the front and back yard, I need to paint the outside of my house. It has taken me about five months to decide on a color or theme. Finally found a color scheme that I hope will show well. Some of my family members think that I have lost my marbles but I love the idea. I want to paint my 1970’s house a glazed (for shine) dark mustard with white trim. The accent color (shutters, plant containers, benches) in a rich dark garnet. It sounds odd but I want the property to have an asian or zen feel. If I had the talent, funds and nerve, I would go for a yard like Mr Myiagi’s in the movie Karate Kid. Will post a pic when the project is complete. In order for this to be a timely goal, the completion date is June 5, 2006. 5 years ago
