stareyedpanda im exhausted, barely breathing..holding on to what i believe in.
I use to be strong enough to go on pointe but my feet have weakened, I have gotten fat and it hurts now. I think i am going to make myself do 100 tendus a nite for a couple of months till my feet get stronger again.

Luvvv it, really fun and gr8. It does hurt sometimes, but i don’t care i just wanna do it all the time. Im really lucky as the ballet school i go put puts you on pointe when ur 13 even if you haven’t done ballet before, although you they do check if u have the ability to do it and the correct turn out, and postures.

I’ve got the pointe shoes on now. This is definately easier said then done. I started training myself on and off in December, and can double pirouette now. Yay (:

Hi. I don’t dance ballet BUT…I’ve got the grace and skill to do it. It has been my urging dream to dance on pointe. Can I do it at all without dancing in ballet classes? If not, why?

Dancing is an amazing, especially pointe. I’ve danced since I was about 10, and then when I was 14 I started ballet and then soon after that was told I could go on pointe which is something I wanted soooooo bad. It’s a real accomplishment.
I have outrageously strong feet and went through pointe shoes like you won’t believe. For example, I would have a pair broken in by the end of one class. Hard on the wallet. Thats why I started wearing Gaynor Minden Pointe shoes, which they have a plastic shank, rather than just using glue. I wear a size 10.5 street shoes which transmits into a 12.5 Gaynor Minden size, which had to be special made for my feet. Crazy stuff. They were so custom, John Gaynor had to make them himself.
I miss it.

Sooo…. this year (after a 5 year break from ballet ) I am determined to get back into it and get on pointe eventually. I really hope that I can do it soon because it is amazingly beautiful and I want desperately to do it too. Well wish me luck

ok, i love pointe. its so beautiful! dance isnt for people who dont have the heart though, i dont care if you have perfect feet or not, you can tell when someone has the heart and drive to dance. being on pointe means havin your feet hurt like hell, but i love it! when you land the combo you had been working on for weeks, then the blisters and bloody toes dont really bother ya lol.

I’m 31 and started ballet one year ago. It’ll never happen in any real way, but there’s no reason I can’t go buy a pair of pointe shoes and wear them around my apartment….right?
