At the end of July I got a promotion out of my paralegal position into the IT department. Sometimes I wonder what I have gotten myself into, but I definitely think this job will be a good move in the long run.
so I must be doing something right! This last time gave me a great pay hike. I got a 10% raise which was great, but it put me in the next tax bracket.

I was just promoted from being a Manager to being a Director. Sure it was tied to me staying with Adelphia and not going to Time Warner, and sure I’ll be out of a job sometime once the bankruptcy is settled, but that title looks great on a resume.
I’ve opted for no attempt at promotions currently as I’m very happy at my job and will hopefully get my degree soon and become a teacher. Then, perhaps if I’m lucky, I can look at getting an addition to that degree and become a counselor or the like.
On January 9, 2006 I got promoted from Senior Account Manager to Account Director! Yay!
Read books on how to get promoted such as Charlie Drozdyk’s Jobs that Don’t Suck.

I’m sure there’s plenty of other books out there. It all comes down to proving yourself to your superiors by taking on more tasks than necessary.
