I would love some kind of storage/workbench, so if I can’t find what I’m looking for at IKEA, I’m going to look into building my own!

going to do some research. And then just dive in. Don’t know what to make yet. Many a coffee table for starters
I ended up making all my own bookshelves and vinyl storage shelves, simply because I couldn’t buy exactly what I wanted – a detailed plan is the answer for speedy construction! ;)

Shit, I forgot. I actually did this. It’s this storage shelf that I made out of plumbing pipe and chain. It’s basically a 3 sided structure forming a “u” that has boards running across the middle. I keep my clothes and other miscellaneous stuff there. It’s pretty cool. Also cool is that I put the whole thing together in my head as I walked around Home Depot one day.
Definitely worth it.

I’ve wanted to do this for a very long time, but I have never thought about it thoroughly. So I have no idea what to do, but at least I know I want to use recycled materials. Hopefully setting the goal for the world to see will help me…
i’ve been trying to post pictures but it won’t let me. i had no budget left for a interior project and i had to make something. we built shadow boxes for drift wood. i don’t know if that counts but it wasn’t easy.
I’m that into this… Sure, I would like to—but I think I really want to do a few other things first…

I guess I can start by doing the basics – shelves, cupbaord doors etc. and work my way up from there.
I’ve made three tables and a china cabinet from Woodsmith plans. I used to to try to make things perfect, but now I figure – if I want perfect – I should go to Art Van. I also found that using old handtools bought on ebay is much more satisfying than noisy power tools.
