• Exchanged 5 boxes of VHSs, DVDs, books, magazines for $80 at Half Price Books
• Threw away all my Dad’s old cassette tapes
• Put aside an enormous pile of things for Goodwill

• Mail boxes to Second Spin
• Find a box for the photos I found
• Go through the three keep boxes and make sure I should be keeping everything
• List tools on Craigslist

Today I went through SEVEN moving boxes and at least half that amount of space of odds and ends. I mostly dealt with my Dad’s DVD collection.

I typed up all the titles in a document so I could have it for later. The obsessive record-keeping makes me feel much safer about giving things away somehow.

Then I looked up the titles on Second Spin and if they were selling for $0.50 or higher, I sold it. Everything that was under $0.50 went in a box to take to Half Price Books. (Actually four boxes.) There’s two boxes of stuff to send to Second Spin. I put some things aside for myself and put some expensive items aside to list on Amazon when I have the time later.

It was time-consuming, but probably worth it in the end. I should make about $200 from Second Spin and who knows how much from Half Price. Probably under $100. Amazon, who knows. There were things going anywhere from $5 to $250.

Of course, I’m not making any money because I’ve been paying for storage for so long. LET THAT BE A LESSON TO YOU, STORAGE-SPACE-HAVING INTERNET PEOPLE.

Still, I’m glad I held on to all this crap while I did. I wasn’t ready to let go of it until now. I did what I could. And I’m doing what I can. It feels good to chip away at this goal box by box. 21 months ago
