I hated the rustic colours in my bathroom, the overall affect was that it never looked clean and shiny. Couldn’t do much about the beige fixtures or the stone tile (mixed with mauve walls and pink and blue shiny foil borders). I decided to paint in a shade of blue green that I’ve seen in mineralized mountain rivers and hot springs. It’s a colour that always says “clean” to me. Even though such a colour should probably not be used with my fixtures and tiles, I figure if people are wearing clothes that mix turquoise and brown, I can probably do this.
I’m quite happy with the result! The colours go together OK and the whole room looks bigger and fresher. Yippee!

After about six months of thinking and not doing, I finally painted my bathroom. I couldn’t be happier with the results. I went for big, bold colors for an energizing, warm room. It was a long process, but so worth it!

Mom did most of the work, and I don’t even live there anymore, but hey, it’s done!

So I finished about a week past my original deadline, but at least I can say I’m now done! It was a long, grueling process, but I’ll say it was worth doing because it looks so much better now. I painted it antique white because I wanted it to be bright and white, but not too plain. I hope I don’t have to do this again for a long time. For now I’m happy with it!

Last night I chipped off the rest off all the paint I could chip off. More came off than I thought would because besides sanding, I scraped a lot off which was fairly easy to do. It was a huge mess to clean up. Then I got about a third of the way through smearing on the joint compound. My deadline is the 31st. I think I can make it as long as I keep chipping away at it ;)

I finally got around to stripping the wallpaper and putting on the first coat of primer yesterday. I couldn’t find a roller, so I was up past midnight painting with a 3in paintbrush! Thankfully, my bathroom is small…hopefully I’ll be going out to buy my paint and a roller some time soon!
