Done With This At Last! 2 months ago

This afternoon I finished the rest of the painting in my bathroom! I am so happy this is done, the goal has been on my list for a very long time.

I am really happy with how it all came out. It looks so much better with paint rather than the dirty wallpaper which was there ever since we moved into this house.

I am Nearly FInished! 2 months ago

This morning I got more than half of the final coat applied, and it looks great! I only stopped, because the room is so tiny, I wanted to let the first two walls dry so I didn’t bump the wet paint while doing the other walls.

Just a little more work, and this room will be finished.

It's Coming Along Reasonably well.... 2 months ago

Got the texture paint done now, and bought the paint for the top coat. We decided to re-paint the Master Bathroom too ( more work!) so we bought a gallon of paint which will be more than enought for both bathrooms. It’s a nice beige called “Ivory Pillar”. Paint names make me chuckle!

Got to say that I am so happy that the ugly wallpaper is gone….should be done with the downstairs bathroom this weekend.

Starting This Today! 3 months ago

Woohoo! I am finally starting this….it’s going to be a wee bit more work than I expected, because today I removed the ugly wallpaper and discovered that there is no texturing at all on the wall where there was wallpaper. So now I have to put on the texture, and then the paint. I still think I can get this done sometime this week.

Hoping to do this in August 3 months ago

Arghh, I just looked here and saw I was “hoping” to do this in the spring. Oh well, better late than never.

We picked up some paint chips at Lowe’s, and I think I have the time to do this now, and also the commitment of help from my DH to help get the wallpaper off the wall. The real problem is that this bathroom is so incredibly small, it’s really going to be a one-person-working-at-a-time job because there’s just not room for two people in there.

GET IT DONE! in the next few days 4 months ago

we started remodeling the bathroom over 5yrs ago…most everything got done except for the trim around the windows and a cupboard over the washer/dryer, and the door…they still need painted…

    I want this done!!!

My husband is out of town for a few days & I would love to surprize him & have it done before he gets home.

I am *going* to do this this Spring 8 months ago

Even since we moved into this house, I have really disliked the wallpaper that is in the downstairs powder room. (Truth be told, I am notmuch of a fan of wallpaper at all!) As time has gone on, it is starting to peel off, even. I have been intending to paint this room for many years, but I really hate removing old wallpaper.

But now, my hatred of the wallpaper is exceeding the hatred of removing it, so I am going to do it. It’s going to look so much better when the wallpaper is gone and there is nice fresh paint in there!

I did it but the yellow I chose was a bit too pale. Ah well.

Greenish-blue or bluish-green, it's the colour of clean! 14 months ago

I hated the rustic colours in my bathroom, the overall affect was that it never looked clean and shiny. Couldn’t do much about the beige fixtures or the stone tile (mixed with mauve walls and pink and blue shiny foil borders). I decided to paint in a shade of blue green that I’ve seen in mineralized mountain rivers and hot springs. It’s a colour that always says “clean” to me. Even though such a colour should probably not be used with my fixtures and tiles, I figure if people are wearing clothes that mix turquoise and brown, I can probably do this.

I’m quite happy with the result! The colours go together OK and the whole room looks bigger and fresher. Yippee!
