How I did it: I started to run 3-4 times a week. During the first month I ran 3-4 kms per run. On the second month I ran 5-6 kms per ran. On the third month I started to ran 9-10 kms. One week before I ran 17 km and today I felt I could go for the 21 km and so I ran... And ran... And ran! :) It took me 2:02 minutes to run 21.40 kms at an average pace of 5:43 min/km and average speed 10.48 km/h. Read how I did it…

So, I ran in the Lincoln Marathon yesterday, completing the half marathon in 2:25 and change. Not record time, but I felt good about it. I pushed myself hard and it felt good running. It was rainy off and on and about 65ยบ out. An excellent experience which I’ll definitely do again.
There’s just 11 days until the race. I feel prepared, at least my lungs and endurance are there, but my ankle and shin keep nagging me. The last two weeks here we’re just maintaining weekday milage and ramping down the weekends. I got up to 10 miles, so I feel pretty good about the half marathon. We got our jerseys and shorts, but I have to take my jersey back because it’s too small.
The Lincoln Marathon is coming up on May 6th. I started training at the end of January. My goal is to enter and complete the half marathon.
