publish a coffee table book

I have a crazy idea for a coffee table book, kinda similar to Found and Post Secret. I don’t want to do the leg work unless I can successfully pitch my idea to a publisher and convince them to throw some money my way to sustain myself while I dedicate my life to the book.

I have two ideas for coffe table style books. One is almost done. Does anyone know where I can find publishers that I can send my manuscript to? I would like to work with publishers that do mostly just coffe table style books.

So I legitimately looked into this and realized picture books are just way to expensive to make a profit on. I think DH’s idea was a great one but I don’t think it can be done as anything but a labor of love (which maybe we’ll do on blurb.com) so on to the next project.

I have a specific coffee table book that i want to publish.
I want to publish a book called “faces of San Pedro, Belize” I live on the island of Ambergris Caye, Belize and feel that people may want to see these people. I would also like to do this for other places in the world.

Been wanting to do this for a while.

Have a few projects in mind. Would like to know of anyone who has done this, which publishers are best and what of the money?

Not just a shutterfly version but something that people would actually buy.

Any advice appreciated.

i have the manuscript. it’s not my book, it’s actually my dad’s, and it’s totally brilliant and funny. i just don’t know where to start…

yes, it has been a couple years in the making. here’s what the plan is….take an art show that i have been working on (another goal) and print it as a book. winkflash.com does book printing on a book by book basis, so there is not a lot of initial investment.

i think by july i should have this done.
