Hired a personal trainer, did an assessment-weight, body fat, heart rate, etc.. Reviewed my workout, scheduled six weeks of training
sessions. I was really psyched, then I got a new job and my work
and trainings schedules conflicted. Won’t be able to start up again
until January, then my school schedule might conflict with my training schedule. I hope not. I could always hire a different trainer but,
this trainer was cool. I felt comfortable with her, the surroundings,
her methods, and her knowledge.
How to hire a personal trainer.
How I did it: I thought about hiring a personal trainer, but made excuses why I couldn't do it. I was really scared to do it, because I don't like to fail at things, and I always want to follow through on things that I start. For these two reasons, I was scared that I wouldn't be able to do it.
One day, I decided that I was just going to do it. I was tired of being stuck in a plateau, and knew that I needed to do something more than I what I was already doing.
I was very scared, but now I'm glad that I've set in motion the training program so I will be able to complete my goal of losing 100 lbs.
Lessons & tips: Ask friends or family for recommendations, and do a bit of research online to find someone to train you. You need to feel comfortable working with this person, because if you don't then you probably won't feel motivated to exercise or try their suggestions.

I wanted to hire a personal trainer to help teach me the proper way to lift weights, exercise, do stretches, plan meals, and generally be healthy.
instead of wasting my savings on purses and clothes i decided to finally get the trainer. i realized its better to loose a few dress sizes before i go on any shopping sprees so this has also helped me think twice before buying clothes i really don’t need.
hopefully i can sign up for a trainer next week. i plan on going every single day unless i’m out of town.

I have been exercising this week and will get my plan from my trainer tomorrow. I can only afford to go once a month but she understands and has been helpful. Hope I can do this w/o going a couple times a week to see the trainer.

more excuses … I think I just don’t want to be as “disciplined” as getting a trainer would entail. No progress …

Intial visit and first appointment for evaluation are done. Tonight is my first real session and I go again Saturday – it’s very expensive so I may not go often but at least I’ll learn the right way to use weights and to exercise regularly on my own.

Actually, i was suppose to do this today, but didn’t.
lots of excuses why I didn’t, too.

I have an appointment Monday to see what all it entails and the costs.
I have recently read the book by Lana Castle entitled “The gift of a year”. It is a wonderfully inspiring book directed twards women who put themselves last on the important list and have many unfulfilled dreams. I am not that much of a reader but I read the over 200 paged book in about 4 days. I have many ideas on what I’d like to make this year special. One is to validate my goal of losing weight by trying something I have wanted to do for awhile…hire a personal trainer. Mostly I think it will make me responsible for my workouts…I’ll have someone to answer to that I am paying a good deal of money to that I don’t want to waste. I think before I felt guilty about using family funds for something that seemed unnecessary or too expensive before. Now I feel like I am entitled to it and it may be the only thing that will work for me. It seems I have tried most “diets” out there. What I really need is hard work and a lot of sweat! Thanks for any advice.
