I stumbled across the Bike the (Lake Shore) Drive website today…One of my friends did it last summer, but I didn’t think/know much about it. This is definitely a neat, uniquely Chicago thing that I really want to participate in.
Only problem? This year’s BtD is May 25th, one week after I get home from school; at school I have no bicycle, therefore no opportunity to work up to the Drive’s 15 to 30 miles. Hmmmm, maybe next year, when I’ll have gobs of time to practice? Though, why put off until tomorrow what I can do today (or this year…)?

Saw the doppler at 5, then here at 6, and when that was compiled with the info that we had to be down there to pick up the registration packed by 7, that the rain wouldn’t let up till around 8ish…
We did not add to the estimated 20,000 people that biked the drive this morning.
So lame.

Sure, the worst has past, but I’m looking at that stuff out by Quincy and Burlington to the Southwest…I hope it breaks apart before the morning…

According to Crain’s, there’s a limit to the amount of registrations they allow for this event. I was holding out on registering to get the best idea of the weather for that day and now I might have missed it.
Also, I haven’t been ‘training’ as well as I would like. ‘As well as I would like’ could also have substituted for it: ‘really at all’.
Better get on this; I don’t know if I could handle the regret and disappointment of missing it.

I mean, c’mon, they shut down Lake Shore Drive so it can be taken over by bikes.
How friggin’ cool is that?
Must register…must…
