Worth doing!

have definitely been more prompt this school year and I’m understanding better when to be tactically late. an ancillary habit – bringing something to do with me so I can be productive while waiting for others to show up.

Worth doing!

I realize I’m slipping on this again. I have been good about first appointments of the day, and getting to work promptly, but the later it gets, the later I seem to be. Extending the early/on time consciousness past noon should be the next goal…

puts being early or on time into a whole nother perspective. when traveling over the last couple of weeks with students who have been partying all night and independent spirited artist-types and departure times compounded by spotty transportation – i became queen of promptness. And even learned a variety of good waiting songs for singing in groups when you’re just not sure when or if the bus is going to come.

meetings and appointments running overtime and spilling into other things.

So part of the effort needs to be, end things that are supposed to end on time. Or maybe leave more time in between scheduled appointments. Or some combination thereof.

ok time to get serious about this.  — 1 year ago

Worth doing!

Actually, last week I was on time for a meeting and ended up waiting for about 20 minutes for everyone else to get there. Discouraged, I lapsed for the next few appointments.

But, new resolution: I’ll be early, but bring something to work on or read with me whereever I’m at. Could get a lot of reading done this way.

and I arrived 5 min. early. My hypothesis: If I take the number of minutes that I’d like to arrive early by, multiply by 1.4, and leave that much earlier than I ordinarily would, then I should arrive at the desired time. Should work like a charm! Will continue to test the hypothesis!

Worth doing!

On the whole, I’m now in work about 15 minutes before 9am, and am arriving at all my appointments with 15 to 20 minutes spare. It’s well worth being prepared and being early to avoid last minute stress. It also means that if anything goes wrong (I forget something for instance), I have time to correct it and still be there on time.

A recommended goal!

Going well  — 1 year ago

Worth doing!

I was in work at 8:45 on Thursday and Friday. This morning it was going to be before 9am, but the road I use was flooded and I had to take a 10 minute diversion making me late – but I’ll let myself off for that one. It goes to show, though, that getting in 15 minutes early is good, because then even if the road is closed, I’ll still be in for 9am.
