iamcarson Wag More; Bark Less!
I just did my second Hood to Coast and will do my second Reach the Beach (same set up but in New Hampshire) in about a month. Also have done The Relay in California. There’s nothing more fun than 6 sweaty runners in a van for 28 hours!
Just did this for the first time! My biggest physical accomplishment to date. Absolutely the most fun you can have with 6 people in one van ?! Do It!
I did it! I ran H2C 2005. Legs 7, 19, and 31. Details:
- Leg 7: 5.65 miles, 36:36 (6:29 pace), started @ 7:44 PM
- Leg 11: 5.70 miles, 39:21 (6:54 pace), started @ 3:13 AM
- Leg 31: 4.10 miles, 24:26 (5:58 pace), started @ 10:56 AM
- Totals: 15.45 miles, 1:40:23 (6:30 pace)
We finished in less that 23 hours, a real team effort. I’m hooked.
This August will be my fifth time running this relay race, 197 miles from Mt. Hood to Seaside, Oregon. Well organized, beautiful terrain, friendly people, and sleep deprivation like you wouldn’t believe! :-) It’s a great event that you’ll never forget and will have a hard time not doing again and again!
Even for me, who is not a fantastic runner, the race is a reasonable goal each year and brings together people from all over the world. I can’t recommend it enough!
