I realized last week that I’ve turned into quite the social butterfly. I get out so much more now, and I’m really enjoying trying new things. Here’s what I’ve done lately that’s new, fun, and interesting:
1) Saw a ballet folklorico company dance at my university
2) I’ve ventured into the exciting world of intramural co-rec flag football.
Before, I probably would have gone to see the ballet folklorico, but I never would have dared to try football—and I’m so glad I did. It’s fun. It will probably be even more fun when I figure out the rest of the rules. 4 years ago

I’ve embraced my inner theme park fan. My boyfriend and I have got season passes to Six Flags and we go almost every weekend. It was one of the best parts of my summer, and it’s still something I look forward to every week. 4 years ago

I did something new, fun, and interesting and in a big way. I took a day trip to London yesterday with some friends to see the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Antony and Cleopatra. Patrick Stewart played Antony, and he was amazing—and I’m not just saying that because I’m a huge Star Trek fan. The whole thing was amazing in fact. Everyone was wonderful.
So, this goal is accomplished, but I’m leaving it up here. I’d like to see how many new fun and interesting things I can do before I leave England. 6 years ago

When I lived in Austin, one of my favorite summertime activities was to go to Movies in the Park on Wednesday nights. We had a lot of fun there (plus it was free!) After I moved, it was one of the things I missed most about Austin. But luckily, my university was there to save me and other students from lack of outdoor movie fun. Every Thursday night, they show a movie. It’s great because it’s free—and that includes the popcorn, and all the concessions are a dollar or less. We saw V for Vendetta a few weeks ago and had a great time, but they’ve shown bad movies every week since then. Well, this week the bad free movie drought is over, so tomorrow night I’ll go down there and enjoy Ice Age 2. It’s not new, but it is fun and interesting. I’m getting warmer. 6 years ago

I think I’m in a rut. I haven’t done anything new, fun, or interesting in forever. I just go to school, teach, sleep. Now that summer is here, I’ll be working, studying, sleeping, and going to school. BORING. I feel like my whole life is boring right now. I need to get out do something besides the same old usual things. But what can I do? 7 years ago

Well, I got paid today and I decided to treat myself with a pedicure. Not quite something new, but I haven’t had one in almost a year. It was relaxing and now my feet look pretty. 7 years ago
