I’m actually trying to help a friend display his work online. This website came up in my research so I’m giving it a try. I hope it works!
How to create an art portfolio
How I did it: I took a drawing class over the spring semester. I drew my brains out and I actually got a portfolio going full of work. I have charcoal, pencil, and ink wash art work in there.
Lessons & tips: Art takes:
- patience
- practice
Resources: Just the local art supply store in supplying me with my art medium needs! :P
People doing this are also doing these things:

My 2 passions in my life is music and art.
I love to draw, paint, sculpt, make collages and make pottery.
I work in the hospitality industry and just dont find it satisfying or truly fulfilling.
I wish one day to become a tattooist.
I love watching people get tattoos, and watching the tattoo grow within in various tattooing sessions and then finally the final piece.
Its truly amazing and I have always considered tattooing a beautiful art-form.
So I suppose I’m beginning this because I don’t really know the first thing about creating a portfolio.
Anyways I’ll keep you posted on how im going.

I talked with the friend last night about putting the portfolio together. I thought of doing a print as well as a dvd form. I thought I could ask around and see how other people do it, maybe see some examples.

To do this — 1 week ago
I want to compile a list of art galleries. Then, do they do display and sell or just one of the two. Meanwhile, we need to put together his portfolio. This requires A’s camera, and he needs to see if he has anything he would like to sell right now, or if its only for display.
Part Two: I compiled the list today. I need to ask A and B when we can get together to put the portfolio together. What’s going on with his apt? If he’s packing up, now would be a good time to do this. Also, we will have to scout some of the locations. So next really is getting his portfolio together. I can call and we can look, but we won’t have anything to show right now, which doesn’t help much.
I might need to do this for college but even if that ends up not being the case, I think I should do it anyway if I want to be more artistic and design a tattoo, ect. It would just be really nice and goal oriented for me to put myself to the task of making and developing art that I’d be proud to collect together and show off.
Ask for advice: Get help from people who've accomplished this goal
