improve my turkish

I first started learning Turkish in 2002, after my first visit there. I’ve always loved learning languages, and since I planned on visiting Turkey a lot more, I wanted to make myself understood and show my respect for Turkish people. Since then, I have been fortunate enough to work a while in Turkey, and lo and behold, I now have a Turkish husband too!! He keeps forgetting to help me with my Turkish, so I’m continuing with my books and watching Turkish TV online. I also help run a group http://groups.msn.com/englishgirlfriendsofturkishmen/homepage.msnw We help each other with our Turkish on there!!

I’ve taken two classes, and will be taking Turkish 3 in the fall. I need to impove my vocabulary and start to speak in Turkish to my Turkish friends, rather than defaulting to English.

After living in Ankara, I really appreciate how lovely the Turkish language is. Further developing my limited Turkish skills that I gained there would also be good exercise for my brain.
