become a novelist

I’ve been outlining a series for several years and have been working on it once in a bluemoon. I suddenly decided I want to get the first novel published by the time I’m 23. I just feel good about that age, so I’m going to see how it goes. That gives me about 3 years. I already have the first book outlined, but since college is my first priority, writing that particular novel is not at the top of my list, so I’m going to continue working on it here and there, and when I finish college I’ll dedicate more regular time to it.

It’s called “Scheme: A Whodunit” and it’s about a Twitter user who runs across a scam and has to shut it down.

I finished Script Frenzy successfully and I was a winner! I plan on participating in NaNoWriMo in November, and I’m definitely looking forward to the craziness.

Interesting fun tidbit: Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen started off as a NaNoWriMo novel!

I only have 25 pages of my script complete, and hopefully I can get at least 15 more pages by today since I’ve been procrastinating for Script Frenzy and it ends this week! I need 75 pages, dear me.

And, on a slightly more cheerful note, I did complete a short story which I submitted to a school contest. There were many submissions, so I’m not sure how well I’ll do.

Well, I haven’t been doing any major novel writing lately, but I have decided to participate in Script Frenzy. Script Frenzy is where 100 pages of a play, or of multiple plays is written during the month of April.

So far, it’s April 5 and there’s not too many days left and I haven’t started. I’m trying to rectify that right now by catching up on the script writing. Really difficult, in my opinion, because you can’t describe everything and you leave nearly everything besides the setting to dialog…

Hopefully I’ll be able to finish, if not, at least I tried. I want to finish though, and seeing as I’m on spring break, maybe that will help.

I finished writing a short story a couple of days ago, and even though I wrote it I am not blind to how horrid it is. However, I feel it’s definitely a start and I hope to write more stories and I hope they will improve.

This short story was about a couple who had split due to unfortunate circumstances, along the lines of a romantic comedy, although I would have to contribute the comedy aspect to the fact that I rushed in finishing it as I was falling asleep.

Here’s to hoping the next one’s better.

I haven’t done this, although I am certain I will, but I already can tell it will be an entirely rewarding experience for me. I’m hoping to start with realistic fiction and work my way into fantasy or science fiction, as at that point I will have honed my writing skills.

I’ve wanted to become a writer since about 2nd grade, or as far as I can imagine. I’m sure I had other career ambitions prior to this one, but they were the type that held interest for two days before being forgotten.

It is with great hope that I read the books of renown authors, hoping that I will be soon joining their ranks.

Since there’s so much homework to do and such, I’ve rarely enough time to write. However, I do have some stories from long ago that I was working on just not with me.

I haven’t worked on my stories at all. Every writing second seems to go into Essays, Midterms, and/or another Class assignment. If I didn’t know that writing could be enjoyable, I’d hate English. Once more I say, I’ve made NO progress.

Classes started and I’m probably only to be able to work on my stories four days out the week. Hopefully, I’ll become inspired from the Mythology books I picked up from the library to write more. I’m not giing up on my stories though!
