The East Coast’s black diamonds are generally not as challenging as elsewhere. That’s not to say that they are easy. Many will have moguls, and in typical E.C. style can be quite slick. I think once you’re comfortable with those diamonds, you should be ready for a black diamond at another resort.
Double blacks are generally well bumped up and could be more challenging.

My wife and her family are all great skiers, and all my kids are better than I am (well, maybe not my 6 yr. old… but in a year or to – he’ll certainly be better than me).
I get a little (emphasize LITTLE) better each time, and someday hope to be able to do the blacks with the rest.
