Watch all of Dark Shadows

I’m on episode 827 where Magda the Gypsy is on trial with the dead jury pool. :)
I was raised in a very religious household and certain rules were strictly enforced, including “thou shalt not utter the words ‘dark shadows’”! So I decided to see (as an adult) what all the fuss was about. I will say that the Rev. Trask is by far the scariest monster of them all!!! :D

I started collecting the VHS MPI videos of the ABC TV series, DARK SHADOWS, when they first came out. I own all of the tapes and have watched every episode. The tapes first came out in October 1989, by mid-1995 all 1,225 episodes of the gothic soap had been released on MPI HOME VIDEO tape. I have seen the program in its original run in 1966, on the SCI FI Channel and now on VHS/DVD. I plan to start watching the COMPLETE series via the video tapes on June 27th which is the debut of DARK SHADOWS on ABC back in the 1960’s.

I watch Dark Shadows with Agra, and she’s not available to watch with me, for a while. We should finish up in December!

We just watched the Dark Shadows movie “House of Dark Shadows”. It was SO BAD. I mean, we love bad movies… and the show is admittedly REALLY bad but we love it anyway. However, everything we love about the show was missing from the movie (except the bad acting. Probably because it wasn’t live). It just wasn’t bad enough or campy enough – or FUN enough – to rank among the other awesomely bad horror movies we love (ie – Hammer Horror films). It had an overwhelming feeling of meanness – as if they were trying to compete with the other more “serious” horror films made at the time.

Anyway, if you’ve watch the show, seriously, SKIP the movie.

Throughout middle/high school I taped Dark Shadows off of scifi channel every day and watched it after school was out. I believe it took me about two and a half years to see the entire series. I love Dark Shadows so for me, it was totally worth it.

oh, dark shadows, how i love thee. after going to the convention, i’m ready to do this again!

Where is he? We are half way through the entire series and I want Quetin.

we are well on our way. sometimes i miss a few here and there, but oh well. we decided not to go to the convention sadly. however jonathan frid wasnt going to be there anyway, so. . . maybe next year. we should definitely be done watching them by then
