Week One 3 years ago

So far so good. I don’t find that I “miss” eating meat. And since this town is full of Catholics and Greek Orthodox folks, I have no problems finding things to eat when Brian and I go out for dinner.

I have never given anything up for Lent before. Even when I was religious, I never observed Lent. Since I am trying to improve my self-control, I thought this would be a good exercise for me. Plus, it makes my Roman Catholic mom happy, and I am all about getting the mom-monkey off my back for 40 days.
