I deem this is my major problem. I’ve been fighting with it for three (or more?) years already.
I make special monthly and daily tables, each row contains information about separate task: name, severity, addition date and fulfillment date. I print monthly tables on the first day of the month and every evening I create daily tables in my organizer for the next day. These tables helped me greatly. There were weeks when my productivity was 100% – all the stated daily and monthly goals were accomplished in time.
But since this autumn something has broken, I couldn’t make myself do the tasks stated in the tables, and in winter I can’t even make myself prepare the tables. I don’t know whether the idea with tables has outlived itself or whether my laziness has adapted to tables technique and overcomes me now.

la lori if it is to be, it is up to me!
It seems like an impossible feat but I shall accomplish this. Monday I want to spend all day cleaning my room and organizing all my crap. I have papers everywhere, clothes everywhere and am in this bad habbit of not putting away my clothes once they are out of the dryer. Folding and putting away shouldn’t be such a difficult thing but I get so lazy and I need to put a stop to it!
My boyfriend is SO neat and tidy that when and if we ever live together I am sure to drive him insane. I must work on this not only for my sanity but for his as well.

I finally organized both my rooms. One is a computer room and the other is my bedroom. Makes me feel so much better when I walk into them and not have to worry about where to find something.

I have to organize a lot of things, let me start listing a few items that are important:
1. My gmail box – this was big mess till yesterday. I made some close to 25 different labels and archived all my emails. I don’t want my inbox showing thousands of emails. This still needs some more work. Mails in one category can belong to others too.
2. media content in my hard disk – This is a big problem. I should get all movies into DVDs. Downloaded serials should go into DVDs too. MP3 is the most difficult thing to organize. But I’m waiting for all the MP3s to be downloaded first. I need to purge multiple copies of the same song. There is close to 11 GB of song videos. I need to figure if this is needed at all.
3. My wardrobe – Currently it has dozens of clothes hanging. electronic items, old boxes, cartons and all sorts of stationery pertaining to my grad application. This needs to be cleaned up.
4. My bedroom – Man this is a mess! There are suitcases all around. It isn’t very clear where I’m headed with this one. I need #3 cleaned up before this one.
I need to get into a sort of routine to clean up something atleast everyday. My organized room has gotten messed up since Oct 2007 – ever since I began applications for grad school. I don’t see myself beginning to clean up the cupboards till Feb 15. But hopefully after that, I’ll take some time out for this.
5. My parents’ computer – This is needed to be done once I go home for vacation. A network has to be established. I must set up a proper Wireless network that allows for freedom in working. I need to do this before I go abroad for my studies.
I also need to set up the remote desktop connections across the routers and provide my parents with an automated way for that so that when they run into problems, I can log in and fix their problems. This will need lots of time and patience.

My wife has been after me lately to get busy on a couple of projects, like what I’m going to do after I retire from the Army next year.
I have ideas about what I want to do, but I keep putting it off. I wish there was a pill I could take to kill my procrastinating.

I actually finished a house project today. I had to replace the phone cable in my house on two of our phones. I had to work in the attic to run the cable. I couldn’t stay up there for more than ten minutes because it was so dang hot. It must have been 120 degrees up there. The lines are run and the phones are fine.
Up next, my wife is griping about doing the tile in the kitchen. Does it ever end? :)))

luinel is leaving for her cruise tomorrow!
i’ve been working six days a week, so when i’m at home i feel like doing anything but cleaning, getting organized, etc. But i’m trying to do at least a little every day. i’m probably moving in four or five weeks, so i’m making a concerted effort to throw out/give away the old/rejected, organize the new/keepers.

...that I’ve stopped procrastinating, but I’ve definitely improved. A step at a time is progress. Got to keep at it!
