If only life were so simple.

Indeed, the Hokey-Pokey IS what it’s all about. However, there were parts of it that left me wanting more. No question about putting your right foot in, but was it really necessary to shake it all about? I found that aspect to be shallow and unfulfilling. Nevertheless, until I am ready for a higher meaning in life, the Hokey-Pokey has all the meaning I can handle.

This was worth it, if only for the laughs I gave myself when I noticed photos that looked like famous people dancing. I’ll keep my eye out for me!

testing the waters? Inability to commit? Changeable?

I think I just figured it out!!! After singing the song in my head a couple times, it dawned on me that the Hokey-Pokey is all about trial and error!!! Think about it…you put all those parts in, only to find that they don’t work, and you keep turning yourself around and starting over…such is life!!!

I was watching a DVD of the British comedy, As Time Goes By, last night and was at the scene where Lionel and Jean are trying to figure out how many people they can get into their living room. They get Sandy and Judy to join them in a circle and Judy says, this is like the hokey cokey (which we have learned on this list is the British way of saying hokey pokey). I have seen this scene a number of times (I love the series) and my mind has always heard “hokey pokey” but this time I really listened and replaid it and voila it’s cokey. More proof it is really what it is all about when you can twist what you hear..denying reality I guess : )
