How I did it: I started taking lessons in september, and I have previous knowledge of music and stuff (I play flute to grade 8 standard and have previously played violin) so it made it considerably easier to learn for me, if you are starting from scratch with no previous musical knowledge don't expect to progress as quickly as this, as string instruments are extremely hard to learn to play, but percevere! It will be worth it! I'm now starting Grade 4 p… Read how I did it…

Things are moving! I have to say I was dreading it: I bought the Tune A Day tutor book for the cello, and it put me right off: far too much black ink and strange pictures. I had visions of the first lesson being really basic and not being able to get a note from my cello, but I even surprised myself! Within half an hour I had played 4 or 5 (basic) tunes and my first duet! Lots of practise now: next lesson in two weeks!
I have been playing for 2 years now and love it. However i am moving to bermuda and need a new teacher as i am not giving up for a year as over the last 7 months or i have progressed dramatically. So does anyone know of any teachers in bermuda that i could contact regarding private lessons
I have always wanted to play the cello: thanks to reason’s best known to providence (and possibly availability) I have made it through (to a greater or lesser extent) all sorts of guitars and a piano, but the original hankering is still there.
A guitar is fun and easy to kick off, getting progressively harder, but still acceptable; there is nothing like a piano (percussion being what it is) for tunefully thumping out your less savoury emotions; but pure energy and emotion from your whole body – that is what I always imagined playing the cello to be: I have a cello (Ebay!), and my Good Lady has booked me my first lesson: I do hope I am not disappointed…
I’ve played the flute for 10 years, and now I want to expand my talent with music.
Yay! My cello got here today! I heard the UPS truck and knocked everything over in my path running to the door _
I bought my cello a few days ago and it just shipped today! It should be here berry, berry soon!
My friend who’s played the cello for years is very happy to give me lessons! So right now I’m just saving up my money.
Oh man. I don’t remember putting this in my “Give Up” section… I really don’t want to give up on this, so I revived it and am now going to try it again.
I have so many awesome memories of sitting with my friend and her mom and learning to play the cello and eating food… Dang it. I want more of that. So I will try to learn to play the cello again. But first I have to own one…
