I was right about needing to get ‘out of my own head.’

A career coach/recruiter I know recommended a company for me to look into in my area – for my ‘work closer to home’ goal. I thought it was a good idea, but then promptly forgot to look into them. I would think of it only when I didn’t have time to do it. Then by ‘accident’ on Monday, I discovered that that company was having a job fair on Tuesday, and that there were open positions that I was interested in. So I checked my calendar for Tuesda – no appointments. So I could take a personal day to go to the fair without inconveniencing anyone else.

THEN when I contacted a woman to be one of my references, SHE told me that she knew a big wig at that company, and that she could reach out to her to perhaps better my chances of getting the position – or at least to get the opportunity to interview. Coincidence????

I may not get the job or even an interview, but just the act of getting my suit on and showing up for the job fair (and doing great during the screening interview) got me some good practice and boosted my confidence.

So now, I’m going to forget about it again and let the Universe work its magic!!!

I have trouble committing to what I really want because I have difficulty imagining how my wants will come to life. I have to quit focusing on the hows and spend more time thinking about the whats – and how happy I will be to get them. Expect more! Remove all doubt!
