With my new job, I’ll actually be living down the street from my workplace. I should be in walking distance, so let’s hope I don’t get lazy and drive a block to work lol
Took a long walk today. I finally got to listen to Dntel’s “Life Is Full Of Possibilities” and Beck’s “Guero” in the process. I’m thinking of bringing my camera next time and take photo walks so I can add more photos to my stock photo collection. That would help me accomplish my “take more photos” goal too, and if I do this right, I can also accomplish my “take a walk daily goal.” If I do this REALLY right, I could lose weight too.
My suggestion: get a dog, if possible, a big one. You’ll have to take him out for a walk every single day. By extension, you’ll take a daily walk.
We started taking a nightly walk after the kids went to bed around our big property and sometimes the woods next door, never more than a couple minutes away from house – we’d go around a few times, and it felt so GOOD. Away from the pc’s, the TV, the stifling AC air, etc. The fresh air feels so good and we get alot better chance to truly TALK about the day without interruptions. Since we can’t take a hike each day, this is a small alternative. But sometimes we just don’t, and I don’t push it, eve tho I wish we could every night. I think he just forgets alot of time but I don’t wanna pressure him I guess… so I am gonna at least mention it each night, and if he doesn’t WANT to then so be it. Maybe I still will, or do it with the kids in the mornign before it gets too hot.
